Mid-Century Modern Master Bathroom

Mid-Century Modern Master Bathroom

Some homes have difficult spaces — spaces that are oddly shaped, poorly laid out, or just plain hard to use. We always love it when we get the opportunity to transform one of these difficult spaces into a beautiful and functional part of the home. This recent bathroom remodel is a great example.

We were working with a space that was a little bit closet and a little bit bathroom. The layout was crowded, and the fixtures and decor were dated. We decided to streamline the space and clearly separate the bathroom and closet. We also updated the decor to match the mid-century modern feel of the rest of the house.

One of the biggest changes we made was updating the shower. We swapped the placement of the shower with the vanity, and chose gorgeous tile in soft neutral tones, and glass doors.

We also wanted to clearly separate the bathroom from the master closet, so we made a clear break between the two at the skylight. We added lots of storage with frameless, European-style cabinets by Bellmont. For the vanity, we went with quartz countertops and undermount sinks. The faucets are stylish and angular, and fit the modern feel of the home. The flooring and walls are lovely 12 x 24 Emil Marmo Acero porcelain tiles.

The final result is an area that is not only beautiful, but makes the very best use of the space. When you place them side by side with each other, it’s hard to believe it’s even the same room!
